Cherry Apple

Today I made a cocktail I named the Cherry Apple.

Ingredients:
- a shot of blanco tequila
- a splash of grenadine
- apple juice

Directions:
Pour a shot of good blanco tequila into a glass.  i used Herradura, which is super smooth, and has a great flavor.  Then a splash of grenadine.  A little goes a long way.  At this point you could add ice, but since we don't have any ice trays yet I had to skip this step.  So I filled the glass with apple juice, and enjoyed.

As simple and maybe wrong as this might sound, it's really good.  I totally love the flavor of this drink.  It definitely tastes just like it sounds, Cherry Apple.  Yumm!  Hope you enjoy, and happy DIYing, chris!

Lemon Watermelon Tequila

Happy Thirsty Thursday!  Today I have a recipe for a Lemon Watermelon Tequila.

Ingredients:
- a shot of tequila
- juice of half a lemon & a slice for garnish
- watermelon soda

Directions:
Pour the tequila into the glass.  Squeeze the lemon juice into the tequila.  Drop some ice cubes into the glass, and fill with watermelon soda.  Garnish with a lemon wedge or two.

Stir and enjoy.  Simple drink, that doesn't overwhelm the tequila flavor, but is a nice spin off of the classic lemon and club soda with tequila cocktail.

Have a lovely night, and happy DIYing, chris!

A New Tequila Sunrise

Ingredients:
- a shot of white tequila
- pineapple chunks
- pineapple juice
- grenadine
- a maraschino cherry

Directions:
Pour the tequila into a glass, and muddle about five pineapple chunks into the bottom of the glass.  Fill the glass 2/3 of the way full of pineapple juice.  Drop a few ice cubes into the glass, and carefully pour grenadine down the sides of the glass.

Sandwich a maraschino cherry between two pineapple chunks on a toothpick for garnish, and enjoy!

The classic Tequila Sunrise uses orange juice instead of pineapple juice, but since I had pineapple juice in the house and not orange juice I thought I'd give this a go.  The pineapple flavor complements the tequila perfectly, and the grenadine cuts the tartness of the pineapple.  Another great end of summer drink.  Have a lovely thirsty thursday, and happy DIYing, chris!

Pineapple Mint Tequila

Happy Thirsty Thursday!  I have some pineapple juice I need to use up, so I came up with a drink recipe based around the pineapple flavor.  A Pineapple Mint Tequila cocktail.

Ingredients:
-  a shot of tequila
-  7 - 10 fresh mint leaves
-  5 pineapple chunks
-  3 tablespoons of pineapple juice
-  7up

Directions:
Pour the tequila into a glass.  Mash the mint and pineapple chunks into the tequila.  Pour the pineapple juice into the glass, add ice, and fill the glass with the 7up.  Stir up the drink, and enjoy!  This drink has a great flavor.  The tequila and pineapple are a perfect combination!

Hope ya'll had a great week.  One more day! :) Happy DIYing, chris!
